The snow peas are growing at a great rate. The plants are starting to grab on to the first row of trellis string.
In the wood shop, I’m putting the finishing touches on a project that’s been on my mind for a while. Here’s a harvest basket for the garden! It’s made from red oak and built with only hand tools, besides boring any holes. Those were done with an electric drill since I don’t yet a brace and bits.

Here’s a little deviation from the garden. I spent most of the day today finishing up the restoration of a child-sized roll top desk. This thing has been passed through and used by four generations of my family. As you can imagine, it was a little worse for wear and due for a new finish. It took much longer than expected (what project doesn’t?) and required a significant amount of elbow grease but it’s finally done. Here it is with the very happy client.
